Jean Boatler Blair
Services
for Jean Blair, 58, Andrews, will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 8, 1994 at Means
Memorial Methodist, Andrews. Charles Whittle, Rev. Bruce Parks, and Rev. Wesley Daniel
will be officiating. Burial
will be 4:30 p.m. Friday in Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring, under the
direction of Singleton-Easterling Funeral Home.
Mrs. Blair died April 5 at Lubbock Methodist
Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 5, 1936 in Big Spring and
married Earl Blair in 1954 in Sterling City. She moved to Andrews in 1992 from Plainview.
Mrs. Blair was a member of Means Memorial Methodist Church, Andrews
Garden Club, and United Methodist Women.
Survivors include her husband: Earl Blair, Andrews;
one son, Greg Blair, Haskell; one daughter: Jan Rambo, Lubbock; her
parents: Pat and Imogene
Boatler, Big Spring; one sister: June Kennemer, Big Spring; and four
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Norman
Scott Blair.

Jann Brooks Bresnahan
Jann Bresnahan passed away on
June 26, 2006 in a Plano hospital. She was 69 years old.
She is survived by daughters Lynda Wood and Brynda Brooks; Grandchildren
Renee Brooks, Tina Brooks, Dustin Wood, and A.C. Wood; Great
grandchildren Jeffrey Brooks, Nicole Brooks and Catherine Brooks.
Jann worked at the Writing Center at Collin County Community College.
She spoke often about her students and many touched her life. The unique
features that you could not miss about Jann were her tender Hearted
empathy for others, her ability to put anyone at ease and her
generosity. She loved animals and was a gifted writer.

Laura
"LaFaye" (Stanley) Boubek
Laura "LaFaye"
Boubek, 67, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, in Medical Center Hospital in
Odessa. Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Myers & Smith
Chapel with Ralph Anderson of Birdwell Lane Church of Christ, officiating.
Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park.
She was born Oct. 12,
1936, in Winters. She had been a resident of Big Spring since 1969. She
graduated from Howard College.
She worked at the Big
Spring State Hospital for more than 20 years, first as a counselor and
later administrative assistant in the chapel. She was a member of the
Birdwell Lane Church of Christ.
She is survived by two
daughters, Kris Moore of Big Spring and Sandra Evans of Baytown; father,
Nolan Stanley of Midland; two brothers, Marcus Stanley of Midland and Lynn
Dale Stanley of Hutto; and seven grandsons.

Wiley Brown

Wiley Brown, 68,
formerly of both Fort Worth and Midland, died Saturday, May 21,
2005, at his residence in Abilene Texas. Services will be 10 a.m.
Tuesday at Southern Hills Church of Christ in Abilene directed by
Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory, Abilene. Graveside services
will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, TX.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Abilene at the funeral
home.
Wiley was the son of the late Vada (Wiley) and Roy Brown, born on
October 15, 1936, in Lubbock, Texas. He was reared in Big Spring,
Texas where he graduated from high school, and married his childhood
sweetheart, Alice Martin, in 1957. The couple attended their 50th
Senior Class Reunion in October, 2004.
For 40 years, he taught and coached in various schools including
Midland Christian School of which in the 1970-80's he was very
instrumental in the establishing, Abilene Christian College,
Northland Christian School in Houston, and Fort Worth Christian
School. He also coached golf and taught math for 10 years in Aledo
ISD. He loved to sing and play the guitar and play golf.
He was a member of Southern Hills Church of Christ in Abilene, and
an elder in the Southlake Church of Christ in Southlake, TX.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Brown of Abilene; a son, Terry
Brown and wife, Jacqueline, of North Richland Hills; daughters,
Lorry Spears of Abilene, Shari Davis and husband, Ronnie, of Hurst,
and Carla Johnson and husband, Dave, of Mapleton, Utah; a sister,
Frances Weese of Denton; and nine grandchildren, Heath and Shellie
Davis, Andy and Blake Spears, Alicia, JoAnna, and Hannah Johnson,
and Jack and Summer Brown. |

Nancy Conway Gray
We received an email on January 18, 2001
from Jim Stelling that Nancy Gray had passed away. He had heard from Nancy’s husband, Richard Gray, of Robinson,
Illinois. Nancy died on March
14, 2000. This was also
checked on Ancestry.com. According
to this, Nancy was born on March 6, 1936. Hopefully, we will receive an obituary from someone reading this
note.

JOHN CULPEPPER

Services for the Rev. John Culpepper, 58, Palestine, will be at 9 a.m., Monday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Bishop Edmond Carmody and Father Harold Paulsen officiating. Rosary will be 6 p.m. tonight at Bailey and Foster Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Father Culpepper died Friday, Sept 10, 1993, at his home.
He was born Jan. 27, 1935, in Big Spring. He received his M.DIV. from the Church of Divinity School of the Pacific; and his Bachelors Degree from West Texas State University. He served in the US Air Force. He was a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus, Palestine. For 28 years he has been a Catholic clergyman.
Survivors include his wife, Linda A. Culpepper, Palestine; one daughter, Elizabeth Attaway, Palestine; three sons: James B. Culpepper, Paul Culpepper, both of Palestine, and Mark Culpepper, Tyler; his mother, Jean Culpepper, Big Spring; one sister, Billie Edmiston, Big Spring; one brother, Carter Patillo, Locust Grove, GA; and three grandchildren.
Family suggests memorials be made to the Hospice of East Texas, 1909A Rickety Lane, Tyler, 75703; or the Sacred Heart Catholic Church building fund, 503 N. Queen St., Palestine, 75801.

Norman Dudley
Norman Dudley passed
away in Choctaw, OK on September 11, 2001. He is interred in
Soper, Oklahoma along with
his daughter, Dianne Wahl and her son Eric Wahl, who preceded him in
death, and his parents Luther Eugene and Virginia Jones Dudley who
are interned in Arroyo Grande, California. Virginia passed away May
1977 and Eugene in Feb 1978.
He is survived by
his wife, Virginia (Ginger) Dudley, three children, daughters, Vicki
Tripp, of Sacramento, Karen Dudley, also from Sacramento, and a son,
Scott Dudley, who resides with his Mother in Hugo, Oklahoma. Scott
was paralyzed in an auto accident in 1996 and spends most of his
days in a wheelchair. Norman and Ginger also had eight grandchildren
and one great grandchild at his death.
Norman was born in
New Castle, Texas October, 25, 1935. He was the first child and only
son of Luther Eugene and Virginia Jones Dudley.
Norman graduated
from Big Spring High School in 1953. He was an avid football player
and went on to Texas Tech in Lubbock. He married Virginia “Ginger”
Hatch in 1954.
Norman and Ginger
moved to California in 1958 where he worked at various jobs while he
still attended college in Fresno, California.
He became a general
contractor in the 1962, building houses at the time. He did this
until he took over his father’s water drilling company in 1972.
After his parents deaths he and Ginger decided to move to Oklahoma.
Norman was 65 when
he passed away. He had been sick for some time. He suffered from
heart problems, having had a by pass in January of 2001, from which
he never recovered. His kidneys had failed also. He died in a Paris,
Texas Hospital, just minutes before the attack on the twin towers.
He is missed.

Hall
Big Spring - Perry
Hall, 60, died Friday, Dec. 22, 1995, in a Lubbock hospital.
Service will be at 3
p.m. Tuesday in the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with burial
in Trinity Memorial Park.
He was born Jan. 16,
1935, in Coahoma. An Army veteran, he worked at the Veterans
Administration Hospital until retiring in 1992. He had also owned and
operated Halls Bicycle Shop, was a free-lance photographer, a member of
the East 4th Baptist Church, Chamber of Commerce and the Howard County
Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his
wife, Mary Ann Hall of Big Spring; two sons, Perry Dean Hall of Big Spring
and Tony Hall of Plano; his mother and stepfather, Lois and Maurice Meek
of Big Spring; a brother, R. B. Hall, Jr., of Austin; three sisters,
Jeanette Florence of Linden, Letress Tavaglione of Fort Worth and Phillis
Mitchell of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sam
H. Hall
(Lt. Col. Retired)
Sam was born in Lubbock, Texas on February 2, 1936 to Alford Goodwin Hall
and Delma E. Fulford. The family moved to Big Spring where Sam
attended school until his senior year in High School when he went to
Wentworth Military Academy where he graduated with honors. He
continued his education at A and M for one year then saw the light and
transferred to the University of Texas at Austin. He met Martha J.
Sauls and they were married in Austin on January 28, 1958.
He joined the Air Force
ROTC at the end of his first year of Law School. He was called in to
serve his 3 years which became 21 years. He and Martha served n many
foreign countries including Europe and Asia. After that he returned
to Law School and got his degree in 1981. He went to work at the Law
School in March of 1981 as an Associate Dean. He left the Law School
in 1985 to go into partnership with Ken Mackey and other firms.
Sam leaves to Honor his
memory his wife of 46 years, Martha J. Hall of Austin; Sam H (Page) Hall
of Houston, Mary K. Hall of Dallas, and Christopher T. (Jennifer) Hall of
Austin; four grandchildren, Sam H. Hall IV, Zack D. Hall, Jessie Nicole
Hall and Haley Elizabeth Hall.
A private family
memorial service will be held Saturday November 20, 2004.
The family requests
that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American
Cancer Society or the Assistance League of Austin Building Fund.

Harrison
Garland Harrison, 68, of Coahoma died at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at his home. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday in the Myers & Smith Chapel with the Rev. Herb McPherson, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park.
He was born Dec. 24, 1935, in Crockett, to Alean Edgerton Harrison and Henry Harrison. He had been a resident of Big Spring since 1946, coming from Orange.
He graduated from Big Spring High School in 1954, and attended Howard College where he played baseball. He had an opportunity to play for the Boston Red Sox, but declined to stay home and help his mother.
He married Peggy Teague, Jan. 20, 1962, in Big Spring. He was a master plumber, starting his career with Slim Fiveash while in high school. He later worked for Whitefield Plumbing and then owned and operated Harrison Plumbing.
He was very active in plumbing for new home construction in Big Spring. After the construction slowed down, he continued to do plumbing repair service. He had a strong work and moral ethic. He was willing to lose money on a job to be sure that it was done right.
He was very talented in other mechanical and construction projects, including drafting and blue prints. He loved teaching these things to other people, especially his sons. He was a member of the
Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Harrison of Coahoma; one daughter, Paula Thiel and her husband, Derm, of Laramie, Wyo.; three sons, Curtis Harrison and his wife, Larenda, Preston Harrison and his wife, Keisha, and Calvin Harrison, all of Coahoma; and six grandchildren, Heather Kirby, Michelle Thiel, Jonathon Thiel, Emily Thiel, Victoria Marie Harrison, and D'Kota Harrison.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Lloyd Harrison; one sister, Esther Shaw; and one granddaughter, Annie Marie Harrison.
Pallbearers will be Mike Zilai, Craig Caudill, John Bryans, Mike Burcham, John Doll, and Curtis Hawkins.

Hollis, 71, of Carbon, formerly of Big Spring, died on
Thursday, December 8, 2005, in Eastland. Memorial
services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 10, 2005 at
the Leon River Cowboy Church in Olton, Texas. Graveside
funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday,
December 12, 2005 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity
Memorial Park in Big Spring with Pastor Paul Howie with
the Leon River Cowboy Church, officiating.
He was born on November 29, 1934, in Howard County,
Texas and married Margaret Doris Box on June 1, 1955 in
Big Spring. She preceded him in death on November 19,
1996.
James grew up in Big Spring and graduated from Big
Spring High School. He worked for Cosden Oil and
Chemical for 32 years before retiring. He moved to
Carbon, Texas in 1997 where he was involved in farming
and ranching. He enjoyed sports, football, baseball and
rodeo. His constant companion was his dog, Banjo.
Mr. Hollis had been a member of the Berea Baptist Church
in Big Spring and was affiliated with the Leon River
Cowboy Church in Olton, Texas.
Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law,
Preston and Joann Hollis of Canyon and Eston and Faye
Hollis of Big Spring; two sisters-in-law, Glenna
Hiltbrunner and husband, Ray, and Jeannie Pitts all of
Big Spring; five nephews and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lucy
Hollis. The family suggests memorials to the American

Bobby Dell Howell,
67, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, July 24, 2003, in a local hospital.
Funeral services will
be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2003, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch
Rosewood Chapel Big Spring with Dr. Kenneth Patrick, chaplain of Baptist
Memorial Center, San Angelo, officiating. Interment will follow at
Sweetwater Cemetery, Sweetwater at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
He was born on March
28, 1936, in Sweetwater and married Frances Smithson on January 19, 1980,
in Las Vegas, Nev.
Bobby served his
country in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1957 as an aircraft
mechanic. He received a National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct
Medal.
He was an Airman 2nd
Class and a member of the National Guard. After returning from the service
he worked with his uncle in the oilfields of New Mexico.
He then went to work
as an electrician for Cosden Oil & Chemical for 21 years, retiring in
1980. He was disabled from 1982 until his death.
He loved working with
his hands and in the yard. He loved traveling and being outdoors. He also
loved his dogs, "Darling" and "Paddles", very much.
Bobby enjoyed his
Sunday breakfast with his friends, Gene and Tiny and he loved to dance to
country and western music at the Stampede. He had been a member of the
Sheriff's Posse and the Lions Club. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his
wife, Frances Howell of Big Spring; one son and daughter-in-law, Jack and
Kathy Smithson of Tahlequah, Okla.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisette
and Daniel Patrick of Big Spring and Sherry and Alan Harman of Fleet,
Hampshire, United Kingdom; his grandchildren, Jackie Ray Smithson and
wife, Farrah, of Broken Arrow, Okla., Michael Eugene Smithson and wife,
Becky, of Owasso, Okla., Craig Eugene Smithson of Henryetta, Okla., Laurie
Harman, Dave Harman, Adam Harman and Harry Harman all of Fleet, Hampshire,
United Kingdom, Brittany Price of Big Spring, Heather Templeton Ham and
husband, Troy of Arlington, and Tammy Sue Smithson of Oklahoma City,
Okla.; three great grandchildren; his uncle, Carl Howell of Roswell, N.M.,
and several cousins.
He was preceded in
death by his parents, Clyde and Florence Howell; one daughter, Candace
Howell; and one son, Larry Smithson.

Jerry Don Hughes

Jerry Don Hughes, 63, Big Spring, died on Saturday,
Jan. 23, 1999, in a local hospital. Service
will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 1999 at Nalley Pickle & Welch
Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Keith Wiseman, assistant pastor of First United
Methodist Church of Lubbock, Dr. Ed Williamson, pastor of First United
Methodist Church of Big Spring, and Don Swinney officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
He was born on October 16, 1935 in Big Spring, and
married Becky Morrow on August 17 1973 in Big Spring.
Jerry Don was a lifelong resident of Big Spring and
graduated from Big Spring High School in 1954, and attended Texas A&M
College. He worked as a
welder for Hughes Oil Field Service and had worked for Hester &
Robertson Mechanical for several years. He worked for Price Construction for 18 years and then owned and
operated Hughes Welding and Muffler until retiring due to ill health in
1994.
He was a member of First United Methodist
church and was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include:
his wife, Becky Hughes of Big Spring; one son Scott Hughes of Big
Spring; one step-son, Larry Morrow of Odessa; two daughters, Paula Hughes
and Jenny Perry, both of Big Spring; his mother Leona Hughes of Big
Spring; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Roy and Karen Hughes of Dallas
and James Hughes of Austin; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Hughes
and one brother, Dennis Hughes.
Pallbearers will be Mike Burrows, Don Caldwell, Roy
Hester, Gary Hise, Jimmy Parks, Gerald Cox, Jimmy Johnson and Ray Austin.

June Kennemer, 70, of Luther died Monday, February 20, 2006, in Hospice
of Midland Inpatient Unit. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM
Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Rev. Earl Blair, retired
Methodist Minister of Canyon, Texas and Mr. Larry Marshall, minister of
the Knott Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be at Trinity
Memorial Park.
She was born January 5, 1936, in Howard County, Texas to Imogene and Pat
Boatler. In high school she was a cheerleader and a leader in the Pep
Squad. She graduated from Sterling City High School in 1954 and was
salutatorian of the class. She married Hollis Kennemer in October 1955
in Sterling City. She was a homemaker and was also involved in the
family’s farming operations. She was a lifetime resident of Howard and
Sterling Counties. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Big
Spring. The loves of her life were her husband, children, and
grandchildren. June was a people person, enjoying everyone and loving
to help others. She was also a lover of animals and pets. Her hobbies
were sewing and cooking, especially loved cooking for family and
friends.
She is survived by her husband: Hollis Kennemer of Luther; 2 sons:
Edward Kennemer of Luther and Mark Kennemer of Ackerly; 4
grandchildren: Chad, April, Audra, and Meredith; and several nieces and
nephews including Jan Rambo and Greg Blair; 4 brothers-in-law: Earl
Blair, Truman Kennemer, Clyde Kennemer, and Aubrey Kennemer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin
sister: Jean Blair.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Clanton, Jeff Alexander, Roddy Cathey, C. E.
Boyd, Tommy Wegner, and Art Blassingame.

LEVELLAND (Special) - Services for Doyle Lamb, 62, of Levelland will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Geo. C. Price Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Jessie Hodge, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the City of Levelland Cemetery.
Lamb died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998, at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.
He was born Nov. 10, 1935, in Big Spring. He moved to Levelland from Big
Spring in 1988. He married Irene Owings on Sept. 28, 1962, in Oklahoma City. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a U.S. Marshall in Red River, N.M. He attended South Plains College, Texas Tech, North Texas State University and Eastern New Mexico University. He was a master scuba diver and instructor.
He had an EMT license. He was a building contractor and master plumber. He worked for the Mental Health and Mental Retardation in Fort Worth and Wichita Falls. He was a fellow of the American Academy of Medical Administrators. He was a retired health care executive and a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Monte Lamb of Fort Worth and Randy Lamb of Levelland; two daughters, Beva and Doylan; a brother, Pat Lamb of Red River, N.M.; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Jo Porter, 33, of 2420 Arcady, were held
Wednesday at Restland Memorial Chapel with Rev. Richard Nelson
officiating.
Burial was in Restland Memorial Park.
A Garland resident for 11 years, Mrs. Porter died Monday in a local
hospital.
She was born August 2, 1936 in Big Spring, Texas.
Survivors are her husband, Robert B. Porter; sons, Robert Louis
Porter and John David Porter; a daughter, Bonnie Diane Porter, all of
Garland; sisters, Mrs. Patricia Mittel of Woodland Hills, California, Mrs.
Martha Kirby of Tokyo, Japan, Mrs. Edna McCoslin of Houston and Mrs. Julia
Bird of Amarillo; brothers, Hugh Cochron of Odessa, Bill Cochron of Big
Spring and Rosser Cochron of El Paso.

Reed, 70, a retired transport driver for Permian Corp., died

Morris
Cecil Rhodes
Morris Cecil Rhodes,
68, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, in the
Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Teeters,
pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at
Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive
friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born June 1,
1936, in Snyder and married Sandra Neas Jan. 23, 1959, in Abilene.
Morris graduated from
Big Spring High School and from Hardin-Simmons University. After
graduation he went to work for Cosden Oil and Chemical. He then went to
work for Guthrie Oil & Gas and had worked there for more than 25
years.
He was a member of the
First Baptist Church and a member of the pastor's Sunday school class. He
was a longtime member and past president of the Lions Club. He had served
as secretary-treasurer of the Big Spring Country Club for more than 20
years and had also served as president.
Morris loved his
family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing golf and
dominoes.
Survivors include his
wife, Sandra Rhodes of Big Spring; his daughter and son-in-law, Neasa and
Brandon Iden of Luther; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Michelle
Rhodes of Coahoma; his grandchildren, Berkley, Brayden, Braxton, Reagan,
Mia and Brynlea; one brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Charlotte Rhodes
of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in
death by his parents, Cecil and Alma Rhodes, one son, Derek Rhodes and one
brother, Joe Rhodes.
Pallbearers will be
Stanley Haney, John Freeman, Gerald Wooten, Ellis Britton, Jim Mathews and
Kimball Guthrie. Honorary pallbearers will be A.C. Neighbors, Duane
Thomas, C.G. Griffin, Bob Stewart, A.J. Pirkle, James Welch, R.H. Weaver,
Howard Carleton, Jack Cook, Bill McClendon, B. Broadrick, Wayne Henry,
Jackie Thomas and Delnor Poss.

J.W. Thompson
J.W. Thompson, 67, of Killeen, formerly of Big Spring, died Jan. 5, 2005, at his residence. Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at the Heritage Funeral Home in Harker Heights with Tommy Odell, Tunis Schuurman and Mike Daily officiating. Burial follows in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
He was born Aug. 20, 1936, in Trent and was raised and educated in Big Spring, He worked as an electrician for 30 years and was a pastor for 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.M. and Beulah Thompson and his father-in-law, John B. Randolph.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Thompson of Killeen; son, Richard Thompson of Killeen; daughters, Sharae and husband, Reb Thompson-Weedon III of Harker Heights and Christie Thompson of Houston; brother, Luke and his wife, Pat Thompson of Roswell, N.M.; and sister, Juel Deen and husband, Irland McCormick of San Angelo.
The family will receive visitors today from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Tucker
Elmer "Sonny" Tucker, 67, of Vealmoor died at 11:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center following a long illness. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Vealmoor Cemetery with Howard Hornsby officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at 19910 North FM 1584.
He was born July 27, 1936, in Big Spring. He lived most of his life in Howard and Borden counties. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marines and a Baptist. He had attended the Schreiner Military Academy in Kerrville. He had owned and operated Sonny Tucker Transport Company. He married Wilella Hanks on Jan. 7, 1957, in Lovington, N.M.
He is survived by his wife, Wilella Tucker of Vealmoor; three children, Deidre Smith and her husband Monte, Darin Tucker, and Kevva Anderson and her husband John, all of Borden County; one brother, Jim Tucker and his wife Becky of Conroe; one sister, Thelma Blake and her husband Dub of Sweetwater; eight grandchildren; and his mother-in-law, Maurine Hanks of Vealmoor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Delma Tucker.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Simer, Clay John Anderson, Geary Williams, Monte Smith, James Weaver, Boosie Weaver and John Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Wigington, Aubrey Weaver, Riley Smith and Sean Tucker.

Westfall

Sadly,
I must inform you that David Westfall passed away suddenly and
unexpectedly on Saturday, March 25, 2002. He was working at his farm that
he loved. Enclosed is a copy of his obituary. His funeral was on
Thursday, May 30, 2002.
The
doctors told us that although he fell from the tractor, an aneurism in his
brain caused the fall and quickly took his life thereafter.
David
had asked me to prepare some information for your forthcoming book about
his high school class. Regretfully, I am providing it in the form of an
obituary.

David
Westfall, 65, passed away suddenly Saturday, May 25, 2002. Born in
Glen Cove, TX, in 1936, he practiced law in Dallas in general civil
litigation.
He
graduated from Big Spring High School in 1954. A graduate of Texas A&M
University in 1958, he attended law school at Southern Methodist
University Law School.
He
began the practice of law in 1963 with the firm of Bailey, Williams,
Westfall, Lee and Fowler. He was with this firm for 19 years until
establishing his solo practice in 1982. He was successful in the courtroom
and was respected throughout the state for his legal expertise.
He
was also a successful cattleman who was progressive in combining new
technologies with the traditional methods, earning the respect of his
peers worldwide in the cattle industry.
David
had a positive and vibrant personality with the true Aggie spirit. He had
a big beautiful voice, a ready, contagious laugh, and a sharp-witted sense
of humor. He believed in working hard. Living by his credo, he set the
pace for all around him. David had an exceptionally fine, creative, even
visionary mind.
He
was a person with diverse interests. He loved his law practice because he
helped people by solving their problems. He loved the cattle business
because of the creativity in improving them; the pleasures of working with
them and the land, and its international venue.
He
was respected and admired by his peers. He was truly loved by his friends.
David
was devoted to his family. He was extremely proud of his children and the
outstanding individuals they have become and the mates they chose. He was
a doting grandfather to his grandchildren who in turn adored him.
David
Westfall was a private man who safeguarded his family and enjoyed every
moment he spent with them. He will be greatly missed by all of us who so
dearly love him.
He
is survived by his wife Christina of Dallas, daughter Stefani Podvin and
husband John of Dallas, son John Westfall, an anesthesiologist, and his
wife Marguerite of Fredicksburg, as well as grandchildren Jack, Caroline,
James, and Will. He is also survived by his mother Thelma Westfall of
Abilene, sister and her husband, Helen and Norman Laugham, of Garland,
brother and his wife, Ronnie and Beverly Westfall of Abilene, and sister
Linda Miller of Abilene, along with nieces and nephews.
